I was on one of my favorite sites the other day, Cookies and Cups, and saw this amazingly delicious “Chubby Hubby Snack Mix.” Just look at these mouthwatering photos and you’ll be itching for the recipe too, right?

This snack mix is a new take on the traditional Chex Party Mix, transformed into a sweet and salty flavor explosion! It includes Rolos, Mini Peanut Butter Cups, Baking chocolate, pretzels and rice crispies and turns into something truly amazing. This is a perfect snack for birthday parties, graduation parties, showers and just to have around the house. I love how Cookies and Cups put serving sized portions in little cupcake wrappers – so cute!

Throw a Golf Par-Tee!

Spring is in full bloom and we’re steamrolling ahead towards summer, so you know what that means – it’s golf season! Golf is becoming exceedingly popular with people of all ages, thanks to Tiger Woods (pre-Thanksgiving incident 2010, of course) as well as a slew of young whipper-snapper golfers coming up the ranks. That’s why this is the perfect time to throw a golf “Par-Tee” (get it?)!

Here are a few occasions where a golf themed party will work:

Father’s Day (duh!)
Dad’s milestone birthday party (like 40, 45, 50, 55, 60 … you know, the primary “golfing years”)
Golf is often a spring sport in high school. If your kid plays on the golf team, why not throw an end-of-season golf-themed party for your kid and their teammates?
Adolescent birthday party for a golf-loving kid
You’re on a golf league and you want to have an end-of-league party, or it’s one of your teammates birthdays, or just for fun!

I just love all these creative and colorful birthday parties these days! Especially the ones for little boys, because sometimes it seems difficult to come up with a really great party theme for them. love Love LOVE this Black and Teal Rock-a-Bye Baby Shower!

I just adore this awesomely trendy hipster baby shower featuring a cool black and teal color scheme. The parents-to-be must be super cool to have a rock-and-roll theme for the shower. I think this baby is bound for musical greatness. Or at least he’ll be a super cool hipster like his parents.

The teal blue set against the black and white houndstooth pattern is so striking. These photos make amazing eye-candy, don’t you think?

So adorable I could eat about 20 of them in a row without stopping to take a breath. Silver, Yellow and White Candy Buffet Charity Event Photos

Once again, our friends at Something Sweet Candy Buffet Co. have really outdone themselves with an amazing candy buffet table for the annual Jeans, Jewels and Juleps charity event that takes place every year the weekend before The Kentucky Derby. The event is to benefit The Makenna Foundation, a wonderful cause that raises money for the Kentucky Children’s Hospital.

The event, which was held this year at the Keeneland’s Keene Barn, is always a huge success and loads of fun – guests are encouraged to get dolled up in their favorite designer jeans, sparkly tops and blinged-out jewels to get down for a good cause. And this year everyone was in for an extra special sweet treat when they were served up Something Sweet’s amazing candy buffet. Take a look:

The floral centerpiece was donated by Stephen Hein Florist in Lexington, KY – isn’t it gorgeous? Something Sweet used 13 different kinds of candy used at the event, and every last bit of it looks delicious! Here’s a list of what they used:

We see the majority of candy buffets at kids birthday parties, weddings and showers, but not so much at adult birthday parties. I’m not sure why that is because as an adult I enjoy being able to eat all the candy I want and not have my mother telling me its going to spoil my dinner or rot my teeth. I’d really like to be friends with the people who threw this party. They seem awesome.
