Off-Beat Apple Pies
November 28, 2011 No CommentsRecently I’ve come across three different recipes for apple pies that take this traditional dessert in a completely new direction.
First, from Tasty-Trials.com is the amazing, delectable Bacon Apple Pie – yes, folks, you read that right. Bacon! On apple pie! I can’t even begin to describe how delicious this pie looks, right? I mean, the lattice-work bacon alone is enough to get me salivating, but putting it on top of apple pie just makes it ingenious! Here is a link to the recipe.
The second I saw on Hostessblog.com and is a Cheddar Crusted Apple Pie with Jalapeno-Caramel Topping. Ummm, yes please! I love how the sweet, savory classic apple pie is being paired with sharp cheddar and spicy jalapeno. Click here for the recipe.
And the third off-beat apple pic comes from Kokocooks.com and this recipe includes yummy peanut butter. Although I love eating apples with peanut butter, I never would have thought to add it to my apple pie recipe, but now I can’t imagine not having apple pie with peanut butter. Click here for the recipe.
Now all I need is for someone to create an apple pie recipe that includes bacon, cheddar, jalapeno AND peanut butter and I don’t think I’ll eat another dessert again in my whole life.
