The History Behind the Reese’s Cup!

February 8, 2011 No Comments

In the year 1928, a new spectacular candy took the world by surprise. The combination of chocolate and peanut butter known as Reese’s Cups had swept over the candy industry, and for only one cent per peanut butter cup in the 1930s , were flying off the shelves rapidly! They became so popular that in 1963, the Hershey Chocolate Company bought out the H.B. Reese’s Candy Company. Obviously the popularity of these delectable treats has grown enormously.  They have several different types of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups now. From Reese’s Pieces, White Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups, and Reese’s Fast Break,  to the new Reese’s Mini’s (which Hershey is advertising as the tiniest Reese’s Cup EVER!).

And who can forget the first time they tried a Reese’s Cup? It is a life changing experience. My personal favorite product are Reese’s Pieces! They taste just like the original Reese’s Cup but are even more convenient and portable. What’s your favorite Reese’s Cup candy? The original cup or one of the newer products?!
